“What will this day be like? I wonder,” mused Maria on the way to her new job at Von Trapps’. That line comes to mind often as I open our curtains, stretch my arms wide, and gaze at the world outside. I’ve adapted Rev. Kate’s practice for starting each day with an outstretched moment.
Sometimes, like Maria, I feel anxiety and then try to put one or more of the usual suspects into a broader perspective. Especially when the fog is real, rather than metaphorical, I find myself strangely comforted by the opportunity to “embrace the mystery.”
On clear days, it’s likely that “wonder” won’t carry its questioning tone. Rather, it expresses amazement – at this place, at my opportunity to be here, now. At Louis Armstrong’s “wonderful life.”
May you experience daily wonder.
Thank you, Roger. Was thinking along those lines myself this morning of all the uncertainty in the world, how it helps to savor the moments given to us in abundance each day, if we just open our eyes or as you say even better, the curtain!
Thanks Roger. Good reminders! I use Breathwork too – sounds like you’re using it as well …. and MUSIC is good breathwork too! SING!!
Yes Rodger,
