We’re having a QUUF potluck next Friday, and you’re invited!
Guest post by Elizabeth Walker, Membership Team Chair
Let’s gather together on Friday, July 12, at 5:30, for a celebration of summertime and community! Everyone is invited, with a special welcome to those who are new(ish)– new members, people considering membership, and anyone wanting to get to know us better– and also to all kids and families from RE. Let’s connect with old friends and meet some new ones!
It’s a potluck. No sign-ups required; just come and bring whatever food you want to share. If we have six watermelons, that’s what we’ll eat. Yum! After the meal we’ll talk, play games, and make music. You know, connect.
For all you musicians, kids as well as adults, we hope you’ll bring your voices and instruments and creative spirits. We’d like to hear you and to sing along.
Lots of us have special food needs, so please make labels indicating the ingredients you cooked with. We’ll have labels ready for you to fill out at the food table.
If you are vegetarian or vegan or need a gluten-free diet, no worries, you’re in good company, and we’re pretty sure people will bring good food for you.
Since it’s summertime, let’s be extra careful with food safety. Make sure cold foods, especially those with meat, eggs, or dairy, are well-chilled before you leave home, and use ice packs to keep them cold if your car is warm. And keep hot foods hot. Food is safest when kept colder than 40 degrees or hotter than 140. Thank you!
If you have some extra time and energy, we hope you’ll pitch in and help with set up or clean up. Many hands help form our community.
