Last March, a group of QUUF members went to Nepal to work on a Habitat House. This “Meditation on Bricks, Mortar and Connection while Building with Habitat Nepal” features six QUUFers (Kathleen Croston, Don Dybeck, Joyce Francis, Jim Golden, Nils Pedersen and Penny Ridderbusch), one former QUUF’er (Don Givens) and six other ‘locals’. They traveled to Nepal to help a farming family build a new home after theirs was damaged by the 2015 earthquake. If the physical stuff of their work was sand, gravel, cement and bricks, the human stuff of connection and caring had more of an impact – at least on them. Come hear about their individual experiences and feelings on traveling halfway around the world to help build housing in a village in a rural valley.
