About Jody Bower: Cultural mythologist Jody Gentian Bower holds a PhD in Mythological Studies with a Depth Psychology Emphasis from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Washington. She is descended from a long line of Unitarians and social activists; at heart she is a pragmatist concerned with “what actually works?”
Jody is the author of Jane Eyre’s Sisters: How Women Live and Write the Heroine Story, which explores the journey real and fictional women – and some men – take in the quest to live full and authentic lives. Since 2011, she has been teaching through the ALPS program; her most recent class was an introduction to Dante’s Divine Comedy. She blogs about popular culture at jodybower.com.
