Building community is an ongoing spiritual practice of our UU Fellowship. And UU is a faith tradition built on the foundational practice of covenant. A congregational covenant is not merely a matter of wordsmithing. It is first a matter of faithful discernment within a big and beautiful religious question, “How are we to live?” This question transcends our behaviors, as in, “how are we to live with one another” and includes the web of all life as it is infused by the mysterious Spirit of Life and Love moving within us. Today’s sermon will offer a historical look into the promise and practice of covenant.
