Chaos to Commonality through Body-Centered Prayer

In an instant, life shifts. Now acceptance and remembering one’s true place in the world is critical.

QUUF member Cathe Bell presents the first lay-led sermon of the summer. Formerly a federal epidemiologist and safety officer for the Environmental Protection Agency, Cathe Bell has followed the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism since 1974 and been a UU member for 30 years. Her study of heresies loosened the grip of Catholicism in her life, but she still sees hidden power in those prayers uttered millions of times. One of these she has clumsily, if thoughtfully, reworked into a meditation which calls to mind our true place in the world. This meditation recently eased her way through a time of loss and chaos.
