We all have made transitions in our lives. I have made many. As I am now in another period of transition, I am interested in looking at strategies for how we deal constructively with change.
About Kathy Francis. Kathy was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA. She and her husband, Bob, were married before their college sophomore year. Upon graduation, they moved to Seattle where she taught first, second and third grades in Bellevue, WA. With the birth of two sons, she transitioned to a “stay at home” Mom for nine years. During this time they lived in Colorado, San Diego, and New Zealand where she resumed her “outside the home” work life with a graduate social work degree. This gave her tools to start a new phase of her life. Upon the family’s return to Seattle in 1979, she developed nonprofit adult day care programs in South King County. In 1985 she was hired by Group Health Cooperative to start similar programs. Five years later, she felt the need for another change and completed a Masters in Public Administration. This helped her segue into her final years of paid work as an administrative analyst for Group Health. Upon retirement, Kathy studied at an art school where she found a passion for painting.
