Becoming a Member
First, if you are new to our Fellowship and would like more information about how to get involved in our community, please fill out our Visitor Form so that we can better welcome you. This form allows you to receive our Weekly Update via email, and the Membership Team will be available to answer questions and offer opportunities to get involved in the life of Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
Why join QUUF?
When you join QUUF and participate in the life of this vital congregation, you will reap the benefits and share the responsibility for supporting this welcoming fellowship. You will belong. You will discover and develop a meaningful relationship with QUUF, expressed differently by each of us, both as our personal spiritual home and as a place to connect, engage, and grow while contributing to the congregation and the broader community.
Four Steps to Becoming a Member
1. Attend a New Member Orientation: When you are ready to consider membership, attend our Newcomer Orientation, usually scheduled as two two-hour sessions. The orientation provides basic information about Unitarian Universalism, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of QUUF membership. Our New Member Orientations are offered twice a year.
Our next class is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 9:30-12:30. To sign up, send an email to membership@quuf.org.
2. Meet with the Minister: Following the Orientation, all potential new members meet one on one with the minister to discuss personal interest in becoming a member of QUUF. At this meeting, plan to submit the new member forms provided by the Membership Team.
3. Wait for Board Approval: The Minister and Membership Team submit recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The Board must vote members in.
4. Become a Recognized Member: The final step is to attend a Recognition Sunday Ceremony to sign our Membership Book and be recognized by the congregation. You will then be a full member of our community!
So, if you haven’t already done so, please fill out our Visitor Form so that we can better welcome you.
