Introduction to QUUF
Welcome to Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (QUUF), a religiously liberal congregation founded in 1976. QUUF is a community whose fellowship is based on covenant rather than creed. We intentionally welcome all persons who seek to deepen the life of the spirit. We are a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), a consolidation in 1961 of the Unitarian and Universalist denominations, each with a religiously liberal history in the U.S. since the early 1800s.
We extend a special welcome to visitors and guests. During the service you will be invited to briefly introduce yourself, if you feel comfortable doing so. Please join us in a social time following the service.
Sunday Services:
Sunday services are held at 10am in person at QUUF as well as online on our YouTube page each week. We welcome your attendance either way.
Religious Education for Children and Youth:
Religious Education classes as well as childcare is provided for children are held during the services (infant through 8th grade). High school-age youth meet on Sunday evenings at 6pm. We seek to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which our children and youth can develop a spiritual foundation on which to base their lives. Please contact our Director of Family Ministry, Beau Ohlgren, for more information or to register your child(ren) for classes.
Programs, Classes, Groups, and Volunteer Opportunities:
QUUF has a selection of programs, classes, groups, and volunteer opportunities in adult education, music, social concerns, and recreation, intended to enrich personal and community life. Our Covenant Groups, and Affinity Groups are open to members and non-members alike. Information about our programs and our approach to religion can be found in our emailed Weekly Update and on this website.
Offerings and Contributions:
As a congregation that strives to realize our hopes for the larger community, twice a month our plate offerings are taken for other worthy local organizations that are selected by our Designated Offering Team. Additionally, in the first Sunday of the month, our plate offering is equally divided between the local food bank (H.O.P.E. offering) and ourselves. QUUF is entirely supported by annual pledges from members and friends and by the contributions of visitors. We welcome your support. For a bequest or other gift to our Endowment Funds, please contact our Board Treasurer.
