Designated Offerings
The Designated Offerings Team seeks to identify, connect with and support organizations that seek to meet the needs of the larger community in ways that express QUUF values.
Three times each month during the liturgical year (mid-September to mid-June) the cash offering taken during Worship Services is donated to groups outside the Fellowship. The Jefferson County food banks are the recipients on the first Sunday of each month as part of the HOPE (Helping Our People Eat) offering collected by the children. In December, one collection is taken for the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, which is not funded by the UUA (UUSC uses the funds to meet a variety of needs worldwide, including disaster relief and on-going programs). The Christmas Eve donation goes to the Jefferson County Ministerial Fund.
The Designated Offering Team chooses the recipients for the remaining 15 Sundays of the year. First preference is given to local groups that address needs under-served in the community or whose financial needs are not broadly supported, and whose missions are distinctly related to the stated values of the QUUF congregation and our Seven Principles.
